Founders Values: Principles of Liberty
Founders Values hosted a discussion about the Principles of Liberty. Evan Queitsch (Communications Director for Founders Values) gave a cliffs notes version of the 28 Principles of Liberty as described by Dr. Cleon Skoussen in "The 5000 Year Leap (available from the
Founders Values Store). He even helped explain the correlation between the degeneration of Republics into Empires and their eventual destruction. By highlighting the story of the Ancient Israelites and the Ancient Romans he wove a fabric of the need for morality and religion in our culture to help cure the ills America faces.
Evan was followed by Jerry Broussard who talked about the courseness of our culture and the true pulse of the T.E.A. Party. He too explained that there was a disconnect between our society and our past and that the disconnect exists thanks to the courseness that we have allowed to creep into our culture. He explained that the loss of morality was costing us in more ways than one.
Finally, Ian Goodenough took the podium to talk to us about Capitalism. Ian is an economics major at West Virginia University. He regailed us with the true meaning of Capitalism and explained why the economic discipline was the surest and most efficient when compared to centrally planned systems. His analysis of the fairness and efficiency of Capitalism stunned the crowd who were reinvigorated with hope by a college student with so much promise. He also explained that many of his friends in college felt as he does and that again gave the crowd hope for America's future.
In the end the theme of the original principles of our founders prevailed. The speaking group was age diverse ranging from College Age to Middle Age and Retirement Age. It was exciting to see people from all different ages and backgrounds expressing similar ideas. By the end of the night, those who attended understood the importance of morality and religion for the safety of our Republic, the future of our society and the success of our economic model. We hope you will join us in August for our Candidate Night on the 30th at the Newark Senior Center.
Founders Values: Signs of Socialism Symposium
Join Founders Values as we learn from people who have actually lived under totalitarian and Socialist regimes. Meet and hear the stories of people from Cuba, Venezuela, Russia and Italy.
There is nothing like learning first hand from those who have experienced the pain of Socialism. Is america headed there? Are we already there? How can we stop it? Our experts will let us know.
Update The meeting was absolutely incredible. We heard from Loretta who was a little girl in Facist Italy during the war and her moving testimony about occupation, separation and the fear of constant oppression touched everyone in the room. We also heard from Donna who explained how things "work" in Socialist/Communist countries like Guyana and Venezuela where she escaped from after Hugo Chavez took over power. Anarie took us on a journey through the way of life for Cubans. To learn that there are two sets of hospitals, one for Cubans and one for tourists was powerful. It places an emphasis on the point that citizens of Socialist countries are often the least important parts of society. We also heard from Lewis who emigrated from Hungary during Soviet dominance there. He and his brother arrived here with 50 cents and still to this day he can remember recieving his green card and obtaining citizenship. He helped us to understand the fear that communist and socialist regimes instill in their people by explaining that he can still remember the Russian soldiers blasting away at his neighbors on the street with AK-47s. We will be posting the video in the coming days for those who were unable to make it. We hope to see you at our next event in July "Principles of Liberty".
